Ed Hunter Smart

Ed Hunter Smart joined Shield M&A as a Project Leader in 2005. Ed is a senior member of the Shield team, leading projects in Value-Building, Sale Preparation and Sale Execution, as well as MBO's. Prior to this, Ed was Audit Manager within the Real Estate, Hospitality & Construction Group at Ernst & Young in Sydney, where a major client was AMP Capital Investors Ltd. In his role Ed managed the audit process and serviced the needs of clients across a wide range of industries from listed property trusts to sports venue management. Ed was previously an Audit Senior at Saffery Champness Chartered Accountants, in London, where he specialised in private clients and owner managed companies.

Education & interests

Ed is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales. He is a graduate of the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne, where he attained a BA (Hons) in Economics. A keen sailor, Ed completed an RYA Day Skipper qualification in Sydney, and has recently acquired a small sailing boat. He is married with one son, and enjoys clay pigeon shooting and tennis.
