Highland hotel group 'Freedom of the Glen Ltd' achieved an excellent exit through a carefully negotiated sale to Swallow Hotels, the acquisitive hotel group based in Kent, with help from Shield Corporate Finance.
The deal plugs a glaring gap in Swallow's UK network and carries the 'Freedom of the Glen' team in to a larger business with national marketing muscle. The high multiple achieved by the seller reflects the strong logic for this particular transaction and the high hopes for the West Highland hotels within the Swallow family.
